Most karaoke apps hand you a popularity chart. HumMatch hands you a mirror. Hum three notes into your phone and our algorithm analyzes not just your range but the spectral characteristics of your voice, the tonal qualities that make your voice yours.
In seconds you get your closest artist match, a personalized song list tuned to your voice, and a comparison showing exactly why the generic list was never built for you.
The proof of concept was immediate. Our first test matched a user to the artist whose songs he had been singing at karaoke for 20 years. He had never been told that before. He just knew.
The Technology
HumMatch uses a multi-phase voice profiling system. You hum at your lowest, middle, and highest comfortable pitch. The app captures your fundamental frequency range and extracts your vocal timbre through spectral analysis.
Those characteristics are scored against a database of artist vocal profiles built from acoustic reference recordings, and matched against 70+ songs ranked by both range compatibility and timbral similarity. The result is a personalized recommendation no other app can generate.
Why It Matters
Karaoke is a $6 billion industry and nobody in it has solved the most basic problem: people pick songs they cannot sing. Not because they do not know their voice, but because nobody has ever told them what their voice actually is.
HumMatch changes that. For karaoke bars, it means patrons who know what they can sing, request more songs, stay longer, and come back. For individuals, it is the first honest answer to a question people have been asking their whole lives.
