An AI vocal coach is software that guides your singing practice: suggesting exercises, songs, and keys, and tracking your progress. The useful question is what the coaching is based on. HumMatch bases every session on your measured Vocal ID, the range and stability captured from your own humming, rather than on answers you typed into a questionnaire.
Grounding. The HumMatch coach may only reference what it has actually measured: your range, stability, confidence, session results, and song outcomes. It never diagnoses physiology, never invents numbers, and cites the real measurements behind every suggestion. Coaching that starts from a quiz starts from a guess; ours starts from your voice.
No. Any phone or laptop microphone works: pitch detection needs far less fidelity than studio recording. A better microphone does improve measurement fidelity a little, which sharpens your Vocal ID over time, but the honest answer is that the mic you already own is enough to start.
