Bootcamp Day 7: Your First Full Week of Scores

The HumMatch TeamSeptember 12, 20266 min read

Seven days ago you hummed three notes into a microphone with no idea what a "Vocal ID" even was. Today is the closing chapter of that week, and it is worth actually looking back at the shape of it before deciding what comes next.

The week, in order

You started with a Vocal ID and one free drill, just to feel what a measured session was like. From there you learned to read a stability score in cents and seconds instead of a pass or fail feeling. You turned on camera coaching and read a report on your mouth shape, posture, and breathing for the first time. You picked one flagged habit and worked it directly instead of trying to fix everything at once. Your plan started building itself from your own accumulated results instead of a generic template. And yesterday you checked whether your range had actually moved, honestly, against a small and defensible bar instead of an octave-in-a-week fantasy.

None of those seven days asked you to take anything on faith. Each one pointed at a number you could see for yourself.

What to actually look at in a week-over-week view

Do not just glance at whether your latest session felt better than your first one, feelings are unreliable across a week and worse across a single day. Look at the actual numbers: has your average cents-off on a hold trended down. Has the length of a steady hold trended up toward the full duration a drill asks for. If you used camera coaching more than once, has your flagged habit shown up less often, or moved less far, than it did on Day 3. Has your comfortable ceiling or floor shifted at all, even slightly, since Day 1. Those four questions are the real report card for the week, not a general sense of whether singing "felt easier."

Look at your own week-over-week numbers.

The honest decision point

Here is the part we are not going to dress up. If you ran this whole week on the full Coach subscription, you now have a real, measured week behind you, and the honest case for continuing is simple: one week of actual measurement already told you more about your voice than months of guessing would have. If you only tried the one free drill and read along with the rest of the series, you have still learned something true about your own voice, and the subscription is there whenever you decide a repeatable version of this week is worth $19.95 a month or $119 a year to you.

There is no pressure either way in this post. The coach does not need you to subscribe to have already done its job this week, which was simply to replace a week of guessing with a week of numbers. What you do with that week from here is entirely yours to decide.

Keep the measurement going.
